Troop 10 celebrates their newest Eagle Scout, Noah Hutchinson

On Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, Troop 10 honored their newest Eagle Scout, Noah Hutchinson, at an Eagle Court of honor at the UCC, Medfield.  Noah’s scouting career started in Pack 8888 in Suzhou, China, then on to Pack 22 in Natick followed by Pack 113 Medfield. In Troop 10 Medfield, he found a place to grow, thrive, make life long friends and learn vital life skills such as Wilderness First Aid for his highlight trip canoeing 50 miles in the wilderness at Maine High Adventure.  For Noah’s Eagle project he planned the Native Pollinator Garden at the Medfield Rail Trail on the corner of Harding and West Mill streets, procured a variety of native plants,  planted and cared for the garden. The pollinator garden not only serves local wildlife, but adds to the delight of visitors and, as a demonstration garden, provides education on native plants. 

Noah is an accomplished Senior at Medfield HS; singing in Soundwaves HS A Cappella choir; playing rugby for Wrentham Barbarians; is a black belt in karate and serving as a student teacher at Villari’s in Natick.  He is a lifeguard at Kingsbury Club. This summer, he will train as an EMT. In the fall he is heading to Quinnipiac University to study Biomedical Science and play club rugby.

Medfield is lucky and grateful to have many active Scouts who carry out service projects and help make our town a great place to live.

The Fairies are grateful!

Hello Fairy Friends,

Thank you to everyone who participated in the fourth annual Fairy Walk.  Despite the 3 times we had to postpone and the surprisingly windy weather the day of, we had a lovely day. A little over 500 people came to enjoy your houses, food and wares and the unicorn rides were a BIG hit! 

I am so grateful for the incredible creativity, hard work and community spirit that made this event truly magical.  A special thank you goes out to all the talented house creators whose enchanting fairy homes brought the trail to life and sparked wonder in every visitor.  I am also deeply appreciative to the wonderful vendors, whose unique offerings and cheerful presence added joy and charm to the day.  

All your fairy houses were incredibly well crafted and creatively designed. It made it difficult for the judges to make their choices.

This Mental Health Awareness Month of May, come walk with us as we build community, raise awareness, and honor those impacted by suicide. Path for Hope is more than just a walk; it’s a walk to foster community, connection and hope. It’s a show of support, a step toward healing, and a reminder that no one should walk alone in their struggles.

Sponsored by MCSP, a community-led coalition administered by Medfield Outreach, the Town of Medfield’s social service department.  The mission of MCSP is to promote the mental health and emotional well-being of all community members. The vision of MCSP is to build a community where suicide, self-harm, and stigma have been replaced by hope, self-care, and acceptance.

Fairy Houses

Yesterday there was a fairy house event run by Kathleen Derian on the banks of Vine Brook at the Montrose School, that made hundreds of young kids really, really excited and happy. There were even pony rides on colorful unicorns!

The fairy house below was created by Kurt Jackson’s MAP kids, and was the largest and most elaborate of the fairy houses.
