The Medfield High School Alumni Association asked me to post the following notice –

Over the years, the Medfield school system has produced a wealth of musical talent! 

You’ll be able to see for yourself at 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 3 when the Medfield High School Alumni Association (MHSAA) hosts a special alumni performance at the Blake Middle School Auditorium.

Note: This event is open to the public and not just alumni!

About the concert:

— It will honor the late Robert D. Hersee, long-time MHS music coordinator, and dedicate the auditorium plaque honoring him.

— It will feature a two-hour musical revue comprised up of MHS alumni, including some members of the current MHS Band and Jazz Band.

—  Tickets are $15 and can be purchased via this form on the MHSAA Website (or at the door):

— All proceeds go to the MHSAA to support its goals (such as MHS scholarships), and are tax deductible.

On being a selectman

The Memorail Day events are one of my favorite things I do as a selectman.  We are remembering the right people, as we honor our veterans who gave their lives for our country.  Medfield’s speeches and programs are both delivered and presented in a properly respectful way.  Plus we all get in a good walk, before an excellent lunch provided by the Legion.  Yesterday Lt. Col. Todd Caruso returned to his hometown to deliver wonderful remarks and to make a gift to the town and the Legion of framed flags that he flew over Afganistan on 9/11/11.

I saw the fringe tree at the Medfield State Hospital while jogging on Sunday morning, and it was past peak, but still pretty.  The leaves had overgrown the flowers, and the flowers had started to fade.  It peaked a little over a week ago, as it was spectacular the Sunday before.

This morning I went to the MCAP meeting, to learn that the grant is still being processed by the feds and that  plans continue for the MCAP website.

The Directors of the Medfield Community Cable Access Corporation invite
you to the Annual Meeting and Volunteer Appreciation on Thursday, March
29, 2012 at 7:00 P.M. at the Medfield.TV studio and Room 125 in the High
School, across from the cafeteria.

All Comcast and Verizon subscribers, 16 years or older, automatically are
members of the Access Corporation and eligible to vote for directors
serving three year terms on the board,  to hear the annual reports of the
Corporation and the Executive Director and to act on any other business to
come before the members.

We hope you will join us to see what local access is about, what has
happened in the past year and to help the Directors recognize our crew of
volunteers and enjoy refreshments with all of us dedicated to serving
Medfield viewers.
