From Susan Maritan –

| Dear Neighbor, I am a military veteran and served five years in the U.S. Navy. I know the demands placed on our service members: extended periods away from home, time spent in harm’s way, and low pay. People often say, “thank you for your service,” yet when veterans transition to civilian life, a number of them fall through the cracks. For various reasons, some returning veterans miss out on job training, mental health support, or medical care until it’s too late. I remain deeply troubled by the statistics on homeless veterans in our society. Because of generous donors like you, New Life Furniture Bank has, over the past 12 years, provided furniture and household essentials to 1,425 military personnel, men and women alike, with furniture and household essentials to make their apartments a home. Currently, more than 15% of our clients are military veterans. You can make a difference in their lives by contributing to our Annual Campaign.
