MEC nets town $200K in GCA grants

Wonderful news, we received a grant for $200k.  This funds:

● $10,000, Town — Administrative assistance  

● $145,704, Library — Heat pump systems 

 ● $23,545, Townhouse — Insulation 

 ● $20,751, Medfield High School — Variable frequency drive

This is very welcome news.  Thank you all!  I am so excited with the aceleration of our energy work for our Town.

I am pleased to inform you that the Department of Energy Resources (DOER) Green Communities Division has approved an award of $200,000 for the following projects proposed in the Town of Medfield’s Green Communities Competitive Grant application.
List of projects funded:
● $10,000, Town — Administrative assistance
● $145,704, Library — Heat pump systems
● $23,545, Townhouse — Insulation
● $20,751, Medfield High School — Variable frequency drives
The Division reviewed Medfield’s grant application and has determined these are viable projects that meet the eligibility requirements of our Competitive Grant program. Please note that, due to the competitive nature of this grant program, the use of these funds is restricted to the specifically-approved projects listed above.
Jane Pfister, Green Communities Grant Coordinator, will follow up with the contact listed in your competitive grant application to discuss next steps, including coordination of the grant contract process. The Green Communities Division looks forward to working with the Town of Medfield on your grant projects.
