Art in our midst

From Medfeild resident, Jean Mineo –
Happy fall! I’m writing with news about two upcoming art projects.
This Saturday Sept. 7, 11  at 12:30 pm, I’ll be leading a free tour of the outdoor art installation at the beautiful plaza at the Christian Science Church in Boston. Boston Sculptors Gallery has installed 23 monumental and intimate sculptures on the site, on view through Oct. 31. The tour will leave from the entrance to their library at 210 Mass. Ave at 11 am and will last 1 – 1½ hours. Bring the kids! If you drive in from Medfield, take the Pike to the Pru exit and you can park under the Pru at the end of the ramp exit, or look for street parking. This garage is at the opposite end of the plaza from where the tour starts, so walk through the plaza to Mass. Ave. and see how many sculptures you spot along the way. Next up on Medfield Day, Sat. Sept. 21, join me and the Medfield Cultural District for a community art project in the pocket park between Zebra’s and the new Starbuck’s from 9 am – 3 pm. It’s called Visions and Voices and gives you a place to write your ideas for the park and then have your picture taken to be included as a poster on the walkway a few weeks later. Pictures will only be taken on Medfield Day, but the kiosk where you can share your ideas will be up through Oct. 7, so come back and “see what your neighbors are saying.” More information here: http://medfieldculturaldistrict.org
