I just email Ken,Bobby, Mike and Kris to again suggest that they implement SeeClickFix in town. Mike had dismissed it before out of fear that there would be crazy requests, to which I suggested that we all still use email despite getting spam.
I had first learned of SeeClickFix at a conference on using technology in government (Gov 2.0) a couple of year ago, and at that time the Boston DPW was reporting huge employee time savings from use of a similar smart phone system they implemented, because they now worked off project lists generated from resident input rather than having employees out physically canvasing the city for things that needed attention..
Crowd sourcing to make Medfield better.
Pete, Can you tell me more about this program? Run over the phone? Over the internet? Facebook or Tweeter? Thanks, Lee Alinsky.

Hello Peter,
Agree with you a 100% on the fact that we should be considering using http://www.seeclickfix.com…including your email/spam comparison….
Conceptually, if we aren’t using this tool, I think we are missing out but then again, that is without knowing the cost to the town of using it…
Kudos to you for posting that here.

Lee, I signed up for SeeClickFix so long ago I am not sure I recall exactly, but I believe that I registered with them after loading the app onto my Droid my smart phone, then I just took a photo of the problem, and I was able to have the app send it along.
In Medfield the issue is that no one receives that input. That could be fixed by either the DPW registering with SeeClickFix to get the photos sent to them, or someone from DPW could just monitor anything posted about Medfield, like I am doing, and then one gets a notice when someone posts about Medfield (one person other than me has so far, and they called us Dover – it was a comment this week about the paving on Harding where West Street takes off not being done well enough).

Hello All – I’m the Partnership Director for SeeClickFix and I’d be glad to schedule a demo to review how the Town of Medfield can leverage our service. This link provides a very good overview of our government solutions – http://www.seeclickfix.com/government. Our Plus CRM service (which includes branding our SeeClickFix mobile apps) has been adopted in Quincy, Saugus, Swampscott and Chelsea; and we are connected into the City of Boston’s Open311. We are also looking forward to being an exhibitor at the MMA Conference in January. Feel free to contact me at jeffm@seeclickfix.com.
